(TEXT : Ephesians 2:8)
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
FOCUS :
The work of salvation comes with sacrifice, and through that sacrifice gives all men willingness to become the genuine children of God, and free access to Him. No one has the power or ability to save himself or herself, if Jesus has not died on the cross for us all. The cross made us all free from all sins and delivers us from the curses of sin.
Luke 9:23
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Romans 1:5
By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
Romans 5:2
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
In addition, sin comes with curses and that is why the penalty of sin under the law is death. However, we are now under Grace, that came and gave us freedom over sin; but not “control over sin.” Even though you are under Grace, you can’t continue sinning and think in yourself that you still have freedom over sin because you are under Grace. You can’t control sin, it is only Jesus Christ who have the power to control sin and to bring sin into justice through “GRACE.”
2 Corinthians 1:12
For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.
Ephesians 1:6
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Finally, that is why from the moment you give your life to Jesus Christ; you are under new management (Grace), and Grace will be the one directing your path from the path of a sinner into the path of a saint, just and righteous. The work of Grace in the life of every children of God, is to “wash you up from stains, dirtiness, unholy, unrighteousness, impurities and iniquities. Nothing can save you from your sin, except for the GRACE of God.
John 1:16
And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
Acts 20:32
And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
2 Timothy 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
