(TEXT : 2 Corinthians 8:9)
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
FOCUS:
Jesus was so rich that He needed a treasurer to carry His money. The treasurer (Judas Iscariot) was given a free rein to spend the money, for whatever was needed, without rendering account to anyone. He even ended up stealing from the money bag, but this did not affect Jesus in any way. Jesus had a coat that was not common, but apparently very beautiful and the rough soldiers could not bear to tear it to pieces. They had to cast lots for it. This cannot be an ordinary riches that anyone could have. Even Joseph that has a coat with many colours, cannot be compared with the one of Jesus.
Genesis 37:3
Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.
In addition, for you to enter into the covenant of Jesus’ riches, you have to understand that you have to be “divinely chosen as treasurer and die completely empty.” If Jesus can trust you with little, certainly he will give you many more of His divine wealth. Jesus was rich and because of you and I, He had became poor, that through His poverty you and I, can become wealthy. However, you can’t become wealthy from Jesus’ wealth, if you are greed and stingy. Because it’s freely given to you, and freely you shall also give it all out. Jesus has made you rich, so that through the people in your community, environment, village, town, and churches can be a partaker of His “transfer of wealth” through you.
Matthew 10:6-9 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
1 Corinthians 2:12
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
Finally, if you want Jesus to multiply your riches into flourishing, you have to keep on sowing into the lives of people, sponsoring kingdom projects, helping the poor, reaching out to the unreached with your money if you can’t go in-person, let your investment be focused more on the soul that are perishing daily and not those that already saved in the hands of God. Use the little money God gave you to plant future that you can feature and to secure your mansion in heaven. The truth about money it’s that, it can easily grow wings and fly away from your destination and you will never have the opportunity to catch up with it again. Jesus has given you the riches, so that you can be a blessing to His kingdom here on earth. Because all the riches given to you here earth, unfortunately, they are absolutely useless and completely irrelevant in the kingdom of God. So, why are you not asking yourself this question: where are you taking all the riches to after your journey ends here on earth? It is simple, works for God with your riches and your riches will multiply, walking with God as a sincere DIVINE TREASURER and you will keep flourishing till see Jesus in glory.
Genesis 8:21-22 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
