(TEXT : 1 Samuel 16:11)
And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.

FOCUS :

When God ordered you to become a king, even your own family members and relatives will do everything possible in their power to be against you if they don’t like you or your personality. However, if your head had been fixed from Heaven by God with a crown, you will definitely be crowned and rule as a king. fortunately, been born as a king has a “spiritual influence and backing by God spiritual authority; than just an ordinary man-made king.”

In addition, David was in the feed while the kingship selection was going on between his father, brothers and Prophet Samuel. And of course, left to even Prophet Samuel, Eliab would have been his own choice to be the king instead of David his younger brother; but God rejected all David’s brothers of becoming the king except for David only. Even though, David was in the feed with his father’s sheep, making sure no Lion or Bear showed up to kill any of the sheep under his watch; he was singled out for GOD’S KINGSHIP SELECTION. You might be disqualified as people choice in the palace, but if it is in the will of God for you to become a king, the same people who disqualified you will be the one that God will use to congratulate you if they are still alive to witness you in the palace.

1 Samuel 16:6, 11-13 And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD’S anointed is before him. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither. And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he. Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

Finally, David was anointed to become a king was not about prophet Samuel, Judah or the entire people of Israel; but as we can see, the throne was given to David from above and in the collaboration of the TRINITY. Why did it take Israel so long to do this? Believers, regrettably, are not prone to do right, until it’s in their best interest to do so. So, the Elders of Israel will now anoint David to be king over all of Israel, because they think it’s in their best interest.

2 Samuel 2:4
And the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, That the men of Jabeshgilead were they that buried Saul.

2 Samuel 5:3-5 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel. David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.

(TEXT : Psalms 27:5)
For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

FOCUS :

God is faithful and good to us His children at all time, and even in all situations. Though there might be trouble and challenges on every sides, and that will look like they are about swallowing us us up, but the truth of the matter is, glory be to God that we are unmovable and unshakable. Part of the path evey believers must follow, before becoming a “mountain mover”; you must be tested in series of storms before you can be testified.

In addition, the Psalmist mentioned God as his “Rock.” And that could only means, for every believers we are standing on the Rock which is our Lord Jesus Christ Himself. And with that we can be rest assured that any mountain confronting us will automatically be moved and be removed off our ways. Of course, there are all kinds of mountains that can confront any believers, but as believers we should never be afraid, because we move mountains and not the mountain moving us.

Isaiah 49:24-26 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

Finally, there are financial mountain, martial mountain, academy mountain, business mountain, fruit of the womb mountain, foundational mountain, environmental mountain, ministerial mountain, religious mountain, health mountain, physically mountain, spiritual mountain, emotional mountain etc. all mountains are burdens and any of the mountain can only be removed the help of the burden bearer. Two ways in which the burden bearer can help you to move your mountains: Firstly, you must have FAITH. Your Faith might not be big, but as small as mustard seed; that is enough to move your mountain for you. And Second, PRAISE GOD ALWAYS. When it is convenient for you Praise God, when it looks like it’s rough and tough for you, don’t stop Praising God. For while you are busy praising God, God is also busy moving your mountains.

Matthew 17:20
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Acts 16:25-26 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

FOCUS :

As believers, we should always allow our desire to be on the things of God, and not on the things towards men; materials things or on the worldly things. If our desire is mainly focused on the things that God has originally planned for our lives, then our future is certainly going to be bright without any doubt. As believers, we should always seek after God’s will with all our passion of knowing Him the more.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

In addition, one of thing the Psalmist spoke about in our memory verse today, was: ” that he may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of his life, to behold the beauty of the LORD,.” Nobody want to dwell in the house of God again this days. Rather, many people prefer to go to the clubhouse, parties, watching social media, shrine and beer parlor; and these are called “relaxation center.”

Finally, another thing the Psalmist mentioned in the memory verse was: “and to enquire in his temple.” There are so many things that are going on around us, simply because, we always want to follow our own instincts and not God instructions. We rather make enquire from our friends, Google or social media; instead of we going to God for directions. Whenever you are dwelling in the house of God, you have the opportunity to receive from God the those things that are in the heartbeat of God.

Proverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

(TEXT: Psalms 27:2)
When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

FOCUS :

For every believers journey through this world, we should always have it at the back of our minds that “battles and enemies” are not always far from us in our journey of Faith. There are all kinds of enemies, and there are even some who are closer than you can ever imagined, and their thoughts towards you can never be good but evil. They grinned at you, but deep inside their grinning, lies evil towards you.

Proverbs 12:20
Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.

Jeremiah 17:9
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

In addition, there are some enemies who wants to steal from you, there are some enemies who wants you dead, there some enemies who wants to kill you slowly, and of course, there are some enemies who wants to destroy you completely. Don’t ever forget that the world we are in is full of battles. Any direction you turned to, be always ready to face the “hot battlefield” prepared by forces either “known or unknown.” Two of the greatest enemies any man or woman can ever have is: “enemies within or you being the enemy of yourself.”

Micah 7:6 For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.

Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Finally, in our memory verse today, Jesus was the one talking, and He was talking about those who came to arrest and to crucified Him. I mean, there were literally enemies everywhere for Jesus, even among His own very close disciple. So, who can you now trust? Honestly speaking, enemies and battles are everywhere around you. If Jesus had enemies and definitely had to fight the battle for you and I; and which He did fought until He gets to the Cross for Him to be crucified”, that means, there are enemies who will also need to prepared to fight on our path of FAITH. But we gotta stay strong and fight the “good fight of FAITH.”

1 Timothy 6:10-11 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

2 Timothy 4:5-8 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

(TEXT: Psalms 27:1)
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

FOCUS :

When we consider some of things that this Psalmist said in this verse, we will understand that there are some levels of confidence that the Psalmist has in God. And that comes with the level of relationship that the Psalmist has built with God over the time. And it is also obvious that the relationship didn’t stop at relationship level, it grew to the level of fellowship. And when you desire to know God, you build a relationship with Him; when you desire to work for God, you will be consistent in your duty post and when you desire to walk with God you have fellowship with Him periodically.

Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

In addition, permit me to mention just two things that the Psalmist mentioned. The very first thing the Psalmist mentioned about God in this verse is: “the Lord is my LIGHT.” Unfortunately, he is not talking about candle light, stove light, gas light, electric cooker light or Bob light; but he is referring to the particular “Light” that can never be quench or switch off. Believe me honestly, when you have this kind of Light in your life, marriage, business, career, academy, relationship, ministry, or even at your place of work and office; you will always be seen differently. Because you will always be single out for exploit even in the darkest places. The truth about the LIGHT mentioned here is JESUS CHRIST Himself. And when you make Jesus your light, definitely you will always shine through all your storm, rough road, and darkest time or season.

John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

John 9:5
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

Finally, the second thing the Psalmist mentioned here is that: “the Lord is my salvation”, and he added just immediately after the phrase;” whom shall I fear”? Of course, it is practically impossible to have Jesus Christ as your “Light” (guide, direction and instructor) and yet, you are still living in fear. When you allow Jesus into your situation, immediately fear disappear and Faith set in instantly. However, you must have to be international about the Light shining inside of you. And the truth is, without the Light Himself coming inside of you to chase out the darkness, the work of “SALVATION” won’t begins. So, Light brings salvation and salvation brings about “BRAND NEW BEGINNING WITHOUT FEAR.”

Proverbs 13:9
The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

(TEXT : Hebrews 4:12)
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

FOCUS :

When you apply the Word of God in your situation or mistakes correctly, through your mouth filled with truth, you will stand a chance to receive divine direction and corrections. The more you enunciate the Word of God faithfully, the more you will encounter divine revelations. The Word of God reveals to the children of God His character.

Proverbs 8:7-8 For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.

Isaiah 45:23
I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

In addition, God honours His Word more anything He ever created. And that gives the Word of God, demonstration of power to be able to answers all things. Because there will be no words from the mouth of God that will go back to Him void. Through the Word of God, the whole things in heavens, on earth and underneath are all made through the power of the Word of God. So, that means, even you to be in existence it is the Word of God that calls you to “BE IN EXISTENCE.”

Isaiah 55:11
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

John 1:1-7 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

Finally, of course, don’t mess around with the Word of God; otherwise, you will face the raw consequences from God. And that could be such as, you being consumed by God’s fire. Every single Word that proceeded out from the mouth of God, they are “LIFE”; that will always reproducing more LIVES till our Lord Jesus Christ return to take His beloved home permanently.

Jeremiah 5:14 Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

(TEXT : James 4:4)
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

FOCUS :

Any one who will like to keep his or her relationship with God, must abstain from keeping worldly friends. The worldly friends might seems to appear with so many flashy things and spoils you with so many appealing materials things; but don’t be so quick to fall for the trap. The world is very beautiful, but at the same time it can send you to hell simply because of the wrong association you are keeping around yourself.

In addition, every child of God who are truly form God, doesn’t need to be informed that you are not of this world even while you’re still traveling through this world. The friendship of this world will always remains in this world. However, the friendship with God will always leads you to eternity. Once your soul is distracted and filled with “all kinds of worldly things”, then it will be easy for the world to take away your “SALVATION.” Let nothing in the world take away your SALVATION, no matter what.

Finally, there are so many people in the world today whom the works of their hearts are of evil towards one another and they are doing that with all intentionality. They never wish well for other! They are the workers of this world; and the world always has ways of making use of them for evil or propaganda agenda.

1 John 3:8-10 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

(TEXT : 3 John 1:2)
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

FOCUS :

The wises from God goes are beyond just ordinary “speaking words”, they are command that gives birth to many significant things in ones life. God wises for every believers are for sings and wonders; and to move from great to best and from prosperity to abundance. Although, when you go outside the will of God, you will definitely face other dimension of God’s wish and which could be (consuming fire). And trust me, you don’t want to be consumed.

Deuteronomy 4:24
For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

Deuteronomy 9:3
Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD hath said unto thee.

In addition, there are also two ways in which men can wish you: it is either they “wishes you good, or wishes you bad.” When men wishes you good, all will definitely goes well with and with all you do for them or with them. However, if men wishes you bad, of course, you will have many enemies to fight with in your journey. In the same way, if your ways pleases God, then everything about God will definitely work in your favour. Although, it might not be immediately that you will start experiencing change from God, but sooner than you think, ALL THINGS WILL WORK OUT FOR YOUR GOOD!

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Finally, and the truth of the matter is, the main reason that God wants to prosper you it’s simply because He values your “SOUL.” If your soul is in a good shape with God, then God has nothing wrong about your salvation. God wishes for us is to forever remain faithful to Him, and we will forever stay “healthy” even as we keep enjoying His prosperity in our “body, spirit and soul.”

(TEXT : Psalms 121:1)
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

FOCUS :

The direction of your looking will determine your allocation. Many people are looking towards many wrong directions, and just because of this, they missed their allocations. As a believer, when you’re expecting something from God, your direction of looking should up to Him and not to any main man. Of course, God will not come down from Heaven to help a man; but if you lift up your eyes unto God for help, God will bring you “men to help you instead of just a single man.”

In addition, God is not a politician and certainly not a magician, but if you are busy looking up to a (single man) for help, you might be wasting your time waiting; because it will amazed you that God is working on some certain mighty men who will be available to help you without collecting any bribe from you. It is always much better to lift up your eyes up to God who made you and men; than you counting on men in the first place.

Proverbs 21:1-2 The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

Finally, don’t get me wrong, men are made or positioned to be of help to other men around them by God; but unfortunately, it is not all men that sees this as “responsibility” to do. And that is why it is very sad when you see some men whom God has truly blessed but they are still finding it very difficult to be of help to other men around them. Of a true, you are not “El-shadi, therefore, you will not die for any men;” but at least, show some signs of love, charity and kindness towards other men who are below your class. Because, whatever goes round comes back around. The table can turn suddenly and you might be the one at the other side of the “table changed”; what will be your excuse or complains then?

Matthew 19:19-24 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

(TEXT : Isaiah 22:22)
And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

FOCUS :

The key of David is the promise key that God gives to His beloved children as their Master Key, that can open any doors in their place of prayer; and shut any doors that can become a threat to them. When God gives you this kind of key, honestly speaking, you must be special to Him. Are you special to God? Then be ready for this Master Key.

In addition, the reason God gave this key into the family of David, was simply because our Messiah came from the house of David (2 Sam, 7). So as to make it unmistakably perfect, David’s lineage to the birth of Jesus concluded in both Joseph and Mary, making the claim irrefutable. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Master Key that is able to open any doors and lift any gates. When you allow Jesus Christ into your life, there are doors that will naturally opened up by themselves and there are some gates that will totally be lifted because of your new identity in Christ.

Psalms 24:7-9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

John 10:7-9 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

Finally, our Lord Jesus Christ, has all authority over all doors and gates here on earth, underneath, and even in heavens. There is absolutely nothing or person that can stand on His way. Because He is even the Way and the only Way-Maker Himself. If you allow Jesus Christ into your life, you too can open all doors and you can as well have all access to lift all gates. And at the same time, you can as well shut down all doors and gates when you are with your right Master Key.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Revelation 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
