(TEXT : Lamentations 3:25)
The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

FOCUS :

Many at time when we are waiting, we get tired so easily. But the truth of the matter is, the waiting sides are the winning sides. Don’t be in the hurry than the plan that God has for your life, just follow His simple instructions and directions. If God says move to the right, lift, front, back just obey; and if God ask you to be patient, please, don’t be panicking, instead just do as He had commanded you.

In addition, lots of people don’t want to wait for God’s timing, because they have already decided to make a shortcut to better their journey here on earth; rather than that of God’s plans for their lives. Of course, it might turns out to be nice for them, but still it would have been better they had rather wait patiently for God’s time. Because whatever that seems nice, but it is not God’s time, will soon become a disaster and frustration.

Lamentations 3:32 But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.

Finally, our hope should be in God and not in the money, cars, houses, connections, titles, recognitions, position etc. that we are chasing all around. We will all leave EVERYTHING behind in this world someday, and we will all returned back to our Maker (God) with absolutely NOTHING in our hands; except to be judged for all our deeds while we were here on earth. Naked we all came into this world, certainly we will all returned with nakedness. When we seek the face of God in all we do and for the rest of our lives, we will find rest and we will fulfill our purpose no matter the challenges, temptations, depression, distraction, or the obstructions.

Lamentations 3:26-28 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth. He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.

(TEXT : 2 Samuel 9:7)
And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.

FOCUS :

We have come to the end of this series, if you have been following this series, you will understand that we have covered two solid source of Mephibosheth receiving favour through the help of King David; and today we will be looking at the third one. And the truth is, the favour that Mephibosheth received has been divinely there all along, just needed someone from the linage of Johnathan to activate it. Of course, our God is not a respecter of persons. Because when you look at the condition of Mephibosheth, his deformity (lame) should have disqualified him from receiving such an honour; even in the palace of his grandfather (King Saul) opposition (king David). But when God is the one carrying you, no matter your condition, you will be favoured.

In addition, this will bring us to the last part of the favour that spoke for Mephibosheth. The third, enjoyment for Mephibosheth was, he enjoyed fellowship in the palace of King David. From the same (verse 7) let take a look: “and you shall eat bread at my table continually.” This phrase could only mean, the greater part of Salvation is the fellowship we can now have with the Lord. I certainly believe that so many will be looking at King David that why could he allowed someone who is disabled sitting with other royal family members at the same table for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Something must have been wrong with our king. I mean, if he really wants to help Mephibosheth, he could have successfully do that by asking us to build house for him and give him more than enough house help to help him with his daily needs. But the king insisted that the “lame Mephibosheth” will be sitting on the same table with him. And I’m sure that even Mephibosheth would have agreed that he should be living outside the palace; but as destiny will have it for him, he is a royal member and not to be thrown outside.

2 Samuel 9:8 And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?

Finally, there is lots to learn about the power of “fellowship”; because it is the power of fellowship that will give birth to commitment and when “commitment and fellowship” are in one accord, then intimacy becomes priority and visible. King David had strong friendship with Johnathan, and that friendship grew into “commitment, fellowship and intimacy.” So even though Johnathan was no longer alive to enjoy this, his only son continued to enjoy it for as long he lived for. In the same way, when we have fellowship with God with all our heart and towards His work; we will surely reap the benefits of our fellowship. Meanwhile, what so many people are enjoying today are not because of their “hard labouring”; it might be simply because of some “friendship, commitment, fellowship and intimacy” their parents or grandparents have had with some people in the past or with God.

2 Samuel 9:9-13 Then the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy master’s son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house. Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master’s son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master’s son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants. Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king’s sons. And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth. So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king’s table; and was lame on both his feet.

(TEXT : 2 Samuel 9:7)

FOCUS :

Yesterday, we spoke about that Mephibosheth received kindness from King David; based on the relationship David had with Mephibosheth father (Johnathan). And just as I have mentioned yesterday, King David switching into action immediately, because it was direct instruction and a leading from God that Mephibosheth will be remembered for kindness from King David. The reason I know it was God who instructed King David, it is actually because of what King David said, which is “Mephibosheth should fear not.” The phrase “fear not”; it is always a phrase that God often used whenever He send His Angel to us His children to help us or better still, when Him Himself, wants to help us.

Isaiah 43:1
But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

In addition, which will bring us to the second part of the favour that Mephibosheth received from King David. In those days, potential heirs to the throne, as Mephibosheth, were instantly killed by those in power. So that means, immediately King David came into power, many people in the land of Israel would have thought that King David would have killed Mephibosheth. Because he would have been seen as a threat to King David’s throne. Many think of the Lord in the same fashion; however, the Word of the Lord has always been “fear not.”

Isaiah 43:5
Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;

Finally, when God is interested in helping man, even you, you will be so much afraid the outcome of the help. Particularly when you know you are not among those who are qualified for the help. Actually, we are all not qualified to stand before the “King” talk less of eating at the same table with Him; but Mercy and Grace found us, and tell us all to “FEAR NOT”, for we are SAVED. When God says “fear not”, then who should you be afraid of or what should make you afraid? King David told Mephibosheth to “fear not”! The same way, Jesus is saying to you and I too to “fear not”: and that we should approach His Mercy table to have “bread of life that will take away our hunger and the living water that will make ys no more thirsty again for rest of our lives.

John 6:35
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

John 6:51
I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

John 7:37-38 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

(TEXT : 2 Samuel 9:3)

And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet.

FOCUS :

David is actually referring back to the happenings of (1Sam 18), where he made a covenant pertains to the great price that Jesus paid at the Calvary. In this verse 3, shows that David seeking Mephibosheth. Ever is the Lord seeking the sinners (John 3:16). In the next three days, we will be discussing about the things Mephibosheth enjoyed from David through the help of the relationship his father (Johnathan) had built with David long before he was even born into the royal family. Today, we will only discuss about the first part of the favour that spoke for Mephibosheth, even at the point where all hope has seems to have been lost for the poor young man.

In addition, the first part is: Mephibosheth received kindness from David. This kind of kindness it’s not an ordinary one but ordained by divine direction and revelation. For Mephibosheth, he would have never thought that this kind of kindness can come to someone like him and even from someone like King David. Left to ordinary men, kindness can be sometime hard to show or given to someone, particularly those who are seems to be “less privilege” around us; but with God, David remembered Mephibosheth for kindness. Because Mephibosheth set time was dope!

Psalms 102:13
Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

Finally, and not only was Mephibosheth remembered, David also shown that kindness towards him real good. Because there are some cases whereby some people will be remembered for kindness to be shown upon them, but one way or the other, they are yet to receive their kindness from the people who remembered them. However, when God wants to show a man His kindness He makes man or men to remember the fellow, even in their busy schedules. King David just returned from battlefield according to (2Sam 8:11-12) killing different kings with their kingdoms such as: the philistines, the Moab, Hadadezer the king of Zobah, Syrians etc. however, the very first thing the king did in (2Sam 9); was how to show kindness towards Mephibosheth the son of his dear late friend (Prince Johnathan). This can only be God on the move for Mephibosheth.

2 Samuel 9:1
And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?

(TEXT : 1 Peter 2:15)
For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

FOCUS :

You can’t solve all problems and you can’t be the superman for all situations. But the truth is, your little effort here and your little encouragement there; will be enough to bring a broken life back to life. Many people around you might say your own is too much or that you are doing too much already; but you should always say to yourself that “as long as you are still living, you are living for well doings and that is a purpose.” People will call you all kinds of terrible names; particularly when they know or noticed that you are always want to be good towards people around you. But always let your “well doings” speak for you.

In addition, there are some believers that no matter how hard you preach to them about “hospitality or well doing”; they will still not yield to this. Apostle Peter, called these kind of believers: “ignorance of foolish men.” Because you are automatically robbing yourself of the “spiritual blessings.” And by the way, spiritual blessings does not necessarily means, “financial breakthrough alone or you living large here on earth.” But instead, spiritual blessings includes enjoying sound health, living in peace while others are completely living in fear and lastly, the Grace of God is always going to be there to see you through the journey of making it to Heaven someday.

Finally, your well doings are like you sowing “seeds of all kinds of fruits”; by the time the harvest will come, you will reapped in all the fruits. Keep sowing and keep planting (in your well doings), you can’t tell which one of the seeds will germinate greatly. Keep sowing words of salvation into the lives of the lost souls (through evangelism and mission), keep shining your light to those who are still living in the darkness, keep helping up those who falls, keep encouraging those who are depressed, keep strengthening the weak, keep enhancing those who are down, and don’t forget to keep giving to the poor and the needy. By so doing, your WELL DOINGS will come to light before God and they will be tremendously rewards.

(TEXT : 2 Samuel 7:15)
But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

FOCUS :

When God’s Mercy is on action towards a fellow, that fellow will operate under open heaven. And when you are walking under open heaven, God’s heavenly supply will continue to multiply upon your life. King Saul was once a king in the midst of the children of Israel who had the opportunity to be elected to throne of the “first king” in Israel; but when the Mercy was abused, the same Mercy turned into a cures. King Saul would have been the best “first best king” in the midst of the entire children of Israel, but unfortunately for him, Mercy of God was not available for him when disobedience exposed him to an unforgettable sin.

In addition, king David committed lots of sins in his journey of walking with God, however, God’s Mercy found him, and located him even while he was still taking care of the sheep of his father in the jungle. God’s Mercy brought him from nothing to become something, the Mercy of God brought him from no where and made him to sat on the throne that even his biological parents can’t even dream of getting any closer to the throne; not to mention becoming a king.

Finally, the Mercy of God can expired and God can even be withdraw from anyone or anything who takes God for granted. During the time of king Saul, he was the first to be the King in the entire Israel and he was the first person from his entire family to become a king. Of course, he truly did enjoyed God’s Mercy at first when he obeyed God and when he accepted to become a king. When king Saul messed up, the Mercy of God also melt slowly out of his life and out of his kingdom. Don’t mess around when you are undercover with the Mercy of God.

(TEXT : Colossians 3:1)
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

FOCUS :

The world that we are living in right now, will always want to lure you into a “Monopoly Materialism Possessions”; and which will shift your attention from spirituality and into slumbering. Every believers must always look up to Jesus and seek after those things that only matters in the Kingdom of God and the true reason of your identification with His Cross. Christ has redeemed us by His precious Blood on the Cross, therefore, we must keep our eyes firm on Him and on the things He has done for us all on the Cross.

In addition, unfortunately, we have so many believers out there today who claimed that they are born again but they are still visiting diabolical sources to renew their strength. I mean, if Christ is not enough for you in this journey of Faith, why are you still associates yourself with Him? There are some believers who will go as far as drinking “blood” in the shrine and in the darkness altar; when the blood of Jesus Christ has been made as sacrifice for all your sins, wrongdoing and even as far as your iniquities.

Finally, as far as you are saved, you have automatically become a believer and as long you could see yourself as “a believer”; the Kingdom of God should become your picture that you regularly feature in your purpose. As a believer that is living in this present world, we should know that we are dead to the things of this world; but we are very much alive in Christ Jesus. So, that is why a believer that is dead to the things of this world, he or she is dead to sin, unforgivness, grudges, pride, backbiting, hatred, hypocrisy, sexual immoralities, and abomination things; but you are 100 percent alive in Jesus Christ.

Colossians 3:2-6 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

(TEXT : John 15:16)
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

FOCUS :

The Kingdom of God is counting on every single believers out there for our harvest of souls. And the Bible made it abundantly clear, we should not just win souls, but rather, we should make sure that they are “ABIDING IN THE KINGDOM.” Meaning, they must become the citizens of the Kingdom of God even as we are among them here on earth. It is one thing to preach the gospel to the sinners and it is another thing to give them all kinds of goods, foodstuffs, clothes materials or even accommodation; but are we “genuinely following them up”?

In addition, following up the newly saved “citizens” are very important and must be considered periodically. The truth is, the fellow who just got saved today by your preaching, might have fallback completely into the terrible pit of the devil by tomorrow if you don’t do your checkup on him or her. Many believers has failed woefully in the duty of doing the work of follow up. As a believer the truth of the matter is, you are still standing till today in the Faith, because some believers sermons and words of encouragement are always there to sustain you and to keep you standing strong. You can as well do the same for others.

Finally, every single one of us walking in the “path of righteousness”; we all have at least some souls attached to us, and we have rewards of crowns that comes with them. When we follow the saved souls up periodically and we see to it that they are abiding in the in the Kingdom of God. Jesus said, whenever we ask His Father anything in His Name; we will receive them because God will do them for us. If you wants God to bless you, start winning souls and follow them up.

(TEXT : Ephesians 4:26)
Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

FOCUS :

The spirit of anger is not a good spirit that any believers should accommodate. You can be angry but be wise so that the anger won’t lead you to become a fool. It is only a fool that will get angry and refused to be persuaded, because any fools will always want to prove right even though they’re wrong. However, the fools sometimes are right, but because the “foolishness in their actions”: they might end up receiving the blame.

Ecclesiastes 7:9
Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

In addition, anger has not respect for anybody. Whether you are black or white, short or tall, employer or employee, pastor or congregation, G.O or ministers, husband or wife, children or parents, friends or neighbors, leader or followers etc.. the truth is, when the spirit of anger possessed someone and when it is not well managed, the reaction on the fellow can be demonstrated as “madness.” As a believer, please, try your possible best to manage your ANGER.

Ecclesiastes 10:13
The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness: and the end of his talk is mischievous madness.

Finally, as believers, in any setting we find ourselves, we should always try as much as possible to be “at peace with all men.” When we are at peace with all men, then that will give the Holy Spirit the latitude to comfort us as well whenever the spirit of anger is knocking at the door. Although, it might not be easy to be at peace with all men, but let encourages ourselves daily that we choose “peace over war.” The more peaceful you choose to become, the more victorious you will become in the journey of FAITH. Between peace and anger, what do you choose?

Romans 12:18
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Hebrews 12:14
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

(TEXT : Philippians 4:13)
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

FOCUS :

Through our humanly strength, many things will be considered impossible; but through the helping of the Lord Jesus Christ, “ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.” You can reach the top within a twinkle of an eye, when it is Jesus Christ that is strengthening you. However, if the strength is coming from yourself or somebody else, you might be defeated even before the battle began.

Proverbs 24:10
If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

In addition, unfortunately, many believers thinks they reach their goal or perhaps, they are the one who took themselves from the zero level that they were, to the greater level that they are today. The truth of the matter is, “by strength shall no man prevail.” No matter the strength of any human beings, our strength alone can’t take us far in the journey of Life or in the journey of Faith. Acknowledge your weakness and surrender yourself to the leadership of our Lord Jesus Christ, to receive total cover of strength from the above.

1 Samuel 2:9
He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

Finally, the position you occupied today, it is not by your own strength and certainly not by your own wisdom that you can sustain it. Every battles required strength, but not every battles that comes your way that you must need to fight, if you are on the right path. Because as a believer, when Jesus Christ is with you in your battlefield, you might not need to rase a sword to fight a single fight.

Psalms 94:13
That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
