YOU BIRTHRIGHT IS YOUR DIVINE ETERNAL (PART 18)!

(Text : Genesis 32:30)
And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.

FOCUS :

To God be the glory, on this particular series, here is where is going to stop. Trust this series, has been a blessing to you.

Genesis 33:4-5 And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept. And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are those with thee? And he said, The children which God hath graciously given thy servant.

The action of Esau shows how groundless were Jacob’s fear, and how needles his plans. It is obvious that Esau is a powerful Chieftain. How so sad that this man did not see the great spiritual truths. In that case, it would have been “the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Esau.” But such was not to be.

In addition, Genesis 33:9-11 And Esau said, I have enough, my brother; keep that thou hast unto thyself. And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me. Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it.

It is not a joke that a single man has four hundred able men, and that exclude his wives and children. So collecting the gift from Jacob, it is like of no “used” as far as Esau in concerned. However, Jacob has always been very smart, intelligent, prudent, wise, and more spiritual in the things of God Jehovah than his brother Esau. So, Jacob uses “face God” to canvas his brother Esau, so that he can collect the gift from him. Esau accepting the gift, as well, stated that he had accepted Jacob, and there were no hard feelings.

Finally, Genesis 33:12-16 And he said, Let us take our journey, and let us go, and I will go before thee. And he said unto him, My lord knoweth that the children are tender, and the flocks and herds with young are with me: and if men should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die. Let my lord, I pray thee, pass over before his servant: and I will lead on softly, according as the cattle that goeth before me and the children be able to endure, until I come unto my lord unto Seir. And Esau said, Let me now leave with thee some of the folk that are with me. And he said, What needeth it? let me find grace in the sight of my lord. So Esau returned that day on his way unto Seir.

We have come to the end of this series. From the last above verses: this was the total speration between Jacob and his twins brother Esau. Now Jacob is free from curse, free from wrong name given to him by his own parents, free from “manipulation blessings” he has been walking around with and free from fear of been getting killed by his own blood twins brother, because of what he had done to his brother (Esau). Now, Jacob can now live peacefully with his family and his possessions.

Genesis 36:1 Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom.

This is important only in the sense of showing us the portion of Esau, who had his place in this life, and not the life to come (Pas 17:14). It shows his sons establishing themselves in the world, with their riches and their possessions, while the heirs of Promise, that is Jacob and his sons, are still pilgrims and strangers. This furnishes a prophetic picture.

Are you like Jacob or you are like Esau in your Christian journey? You know yourself more than anyone do; do a random checking on yourself and do the needful.
