KNOW YOUR WEAPONS OF WAR!

(TEXT : Mark 9:29)
And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

FOCUS :

The fact that you are born again does not mean that you are free from battles or attacks. In fact, that might even exposed you the more to the enemies to be able to attack you, depending on your “spiritual rank.” Some attacks can be surprisedly come directly from the folks whom you are both lifting up your “holy hands” together in the sanctuary; and while some can either be from your parents foundation or your own self. Some attacks does not give notice before launching out, but as a believer that is why you need to stay alert and vigilant in the place of the “spiritual sensitivity.” And the only ways you can be sure that you are secured, it’s for you to be active in the spirit charging your weapons of war through “prayers and fasting.”

In addition, every enemies and demons has their own body language and their own weapons of warfare; so do every believers should be able to know that they must always be ready in the place of prayers and fasting. A believer that cannot wait in the place of prayers, he or she is already a prey for the demon and the devil. A believer who can’t wait on the Lord in fasting, will never be strong enough to defeat any enemies at the battlefield. Even common “rat in the Church” you won’t be able to chase it out, if you can’t pray and fast as a believer. The more time you spend in the secret place of prayers and fasting, will determine your victory in the public.

Finally, our Lord Jesus Christ told His disciples “you won’t be able to cast out these demos if you stay heavy with all kinds of physical food.” If you must rule in the spirit, you have to caution and control your flesh before it controls you. David said to king Saul: “I can’t be this heavy physically and be able to defeat the spiritual battle.” In other words, I am the one who should control my flesh, and not my flesh controlling me to do otherwise. I know I might not look like a warrior physically, but have you checked out the skills and the gift (prayer and fasting) that I have got spiritually, Mr. Saul? Yes, I am a small boy indeed, but I am “small but mighty.” When you can pray and fast, your victory is sure. And that is enough, because that is all you need in the spiritual journey as your weapons. In the eyes of everyone you might look ordinary, but with your prayer and fasting constantly and consistency, even the demons and the devil knows when to surrender to you; without you speaking too much.

1 Samuel 17:34-40 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him. Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God. David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee. And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of mail. And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him. And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.

WAIT FOR YOUR APPOINTED TIME!

(TEXT : Job 14:14)
If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

FOCUS :

Every single souls here on earth are appointed for “good season and bad season.” However, the bad season its not to bring to our notice that God is “evil;” instead, it is to let us know that God has put all things in order, even long before He formed anything or anybody. For instance, God has destined our Lord Jesus Christ from Heaven to redeemed the lost souls; but did devil ever take things easy on Him during His 3 1/2 years ministry? I believe the answer is absolutely NO! Jesus came with “good intentions and good news,” but the devil and the people of that time made it possible to be turned into “bad season” for all men at that point in time. So, yes, there are good seasons and there are definitely going to be bad seasons; however, in most times bad season does not necessarily come from God.

Luke 4:4, 8, 12-13 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.

In addition, sometimes when we find ourselves in a bad season, we might assume it is the devil at work in our lives; unfortunately, that is not true in most cases. Bad season for example: are the time when people just hates us without a cause or reasons, persecuting us, afflicting us, denying or depriving us of our rightful inheritance, no food in the house, no money to buy gas in your car, no money to pay children’s school fees, no money to pay house rent, other people are making it to the higher ground (legitimately) except for you, facing serious setback or benchmarking etc. all of these are the signs of “bad season” in ones life. And unfortunately, it is not every time that this appears in our lives that is from the “village people” i.e (witches or wizard); the season cloud also be from God. Because for any of the seasons (good or bad), there is always an appointed time.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

Finally, there is appointed time for every single persons to enter into their good season; but “waiting and patience” will always be required of every single persons. There is no one that does no have an aspiration of becoming “great, wealthy, influence, powerful, and well positioned in the society; but the appointed time of “Taiwo is different from that of Kenny” even though they are twins and raised in the same womb for nine months. Your appointed time for your good season is in the hands of God, wait patiently for it; when it is right time for you, God will make you to feature in your good season. Yes, you might be going through bad season at the moment, don’t give up, just believe that your good season is around the corner.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
