(TEXT : 3 John 1:11)
Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
FOCUS :
God is good and not evil, every children of God are to follow suit in this same pursuit. You can’t pretend to be good while deep inside of you, you are nothing but evil to the people around you. Anyone that chooses the path of evil, you have already chosen the path of destruction, because evil will always give birth to evil. Of course, there are some people that can use “eye-services or hypocrisy” to finish you even without you noticing it. “Light and darkness” don’t work together, when light appears, darkness does not have anywhere to hide but to disappear. Unfortunately, even among the believers there are workers of “evil and darkness.”
In addition, when believers spread the Gospel, the light of God will continue to shine and darkness will disappear. Every believers needs to understand that the responsibility of sharing the “good news” it is heavily depends on us. The more of the light from the Word of God that we shared with the people in the darkness, the more advantage we have to transform them into LIGHT. But you cannot give light if you yourself, you are not a carrier of the “Light of God.” The light of God knew those who belong to Light, and it shines whenever they commands it to shine for them even in the dark.
Finally, if you are a carrier of Light, you are a friend of God; and anyone who is a friend of God, will always see God even in the difficulty. Because evil and darkness will always be far from him or her. God is never far from those who are “good people;” and that is why evil will always be far from them. On the journey to the Calvary, there are many things that can be used to put one off from the path such as: distractions, temptations, frustration, condemnation, oppression, depression or discouragement even among the so-called believers. We should not be rejoicing over the fallen of our brothers or sisters in the body of Christ; but we should rather show them kindness if we want to see the goodness of God in our own lives.
