They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

2 Samuel 21:15 Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.
It should be quickly added that David “waxed faint” because he was fighting the battles of the Lord. The only ones who never wax faint are those who never fight. Regrettably, the Church is full of them. Unfortunately, the Church doesn’t look too favourably upon those who “wax faint.” Regrettably, the Church as a whole does not fight many Philistines either. The modern Church is not only “in” the world, but basically it is also “of” the world. When you allow your flesh to rule over you, the world will definitely dominant you and your light will soon go doom.
In addition, 2 Samuel 21:17 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.
How could they call David the “light of Israel,” especially after the episode of Bathsheba and Uriah? They called him “the light of Israel” because he was “the light of Israel” in the form you of our Lord Jesus Christ; who is the “light of the world.” It shows that God not only forgive sin, but He forgets sin. The child of God should do the same. We are the present “light” of our Family, Community, Environment, Society, Nation, County, State, City, School, Church, Marriage, Business, and even to the whole world. So, as David to the whole Israel and our Lord Jesus Christ to the whole world, so are we the light to everything around us; and we must not ceased from shining. If you know as a believer that you are a light sincerely, then, all the darkness or anything that looks like darkness around you must not be able to withstand your “SHINING OF LIGHT.”
Matthew 5:14-16 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Finally, every child of God must be a light through the “spoken Word of evangelism, supporting missions, and helping the poor.” The world are watching every move of ours and evey of our approach to the world through our “Word of Light.” Of course, as long we are still living here on earth, we should know that we are not the property of this world. Unfortunately, many believers thinks that they won’t die, therefore, they accumulate all manners of “materialism” to themselves which they will never take anywhere but only to remain in this world. Remember, you were born into this world, one day you will leave this world.
Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
