(TEXT : Ephesians 5:2)
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
FOCUS :
As believers in Christ, we are to be walking in love even as Christ did for us all. Believe me honestly, if Christ had not loved us and demonstrated to us by dying on the Cross, we won’t be talking about Salvation today; and if there is nothing called “Salvation”, you and I won’t have been SAVED. That is why the kind of love that Christ demonstrated to us while He was here on earth with us, it is not some kind of love that “hates, condemned or romance; it is an Agapa Love. So, are you genuine with the love you are showing towards your “brothers and sisters” who surrounds you?
In addition, because as a believer if you love “your brothers and sisters both in the Lord, family or in the saccular:” it will occur to you that if those your brothers and sisters are not saved, you will want to try all thing possible to bring them into the light of transformations (Salvation). Unfortunately, we have the very opposite today, whereby believers can “love you and at the same time hates you with passion without any reason (s). Because to such believers, their definition of “Christ’s kind of Love” is that “I love me, I and myself only.” That is why if you see some of these believers showing love, they are only doing that with all kinds of eye-services, hypocrisy or they are mediocre.
1 John 3:16-18 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
Finally, as believers if we love with the same love Christ had showed unto us, many sinners will be coming to Christ through us with all willingness. But sadly, what we have today is, believer plus believers fighting over “a plate of rice, over money, over position, over title and over worthless and perishable materialism that they’re busy chasing. The Church wondered why the unbelievers are not easy to receive Salvation, it is simply because the love the Church of Christ are showing are not genuine love but “hypocrisy and gossip.” When believers show the genuine love of Christ to people around them, more souls will gained into the “Household of Christ.”
1 John 2:10-11 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
