INCREASE OF WIDOW’S OIL (PART 6)!

(TEXT : 2 Kings 4:6)
And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

FOCUS :

Gradually we are coming to the end of this series. Today, we want to learn three things that this widow woman did in this verse, that leads to the widow woman and her two sons miracles. Apparently, the two sons had gone out to all their neighbors to borrowed empty vessels, and the neighbors were able to borrowed them some numbers of empty vessels. But it seems if they had borrowed many vessels, they would have had the opportunity to continue in the “business of oil production.” Here is the first thing to learn about the widow woman: “when the vessels were full.” According to Mama, as soon as each of the vessels are full, she moved to the next one and the oil kept on increasing in the empty vessels. So, that gives us the idea that there were no vessels in Mama’s room that day that are “half full;” and the total number of the vessels that they were able to borrowed from the neighbors, we weren’t told. But I believe that they had more than enough that day! And that is to tell us that God does not give any of His children “half full” miracles, breakthrough, blessings or good news.

Psalms 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

In addition, here is the second thing that Mama did: “that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel.” This shows that even Mama didn’t know the total number of vessels that her children were able to borrowed. She was just busy pouring the oil into the vessels, until it was the last vessel that she asked one of her son to bring her “yet a vessel,” and they told her Mama, we are out of vessels. However, I believe all the empty vessels borrowed in the room were already filled with oil and ready to be taken to the market for exchange of money to pay her debt. There will always be a way out of any problem, whenever God is in charge.

Finally, third thing to learn about this widow woman and her two sons: “And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.” The devil does not expect any believer to succeed in the journey of FAITH, but we better just keep pushing until our breakthrough is evidence to all men. I am very sure that to the devil, it will look like the Lord had done too much for this widow woman and her two sons already. Because the wishes of the devil is that the creditor should come and succeeding in taking her two sons for “slavery or for evil sacrifice.” The problem is that we gather too few vessels; but even in that few vessels we that we have gathered, God is able to use them to turn our lives around for the best and to bring shame to our creditor (the devil) if we continue to follow divine instructions.
