(TEXT : 2 Kings 4:4) And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.
FOCUS :
Yesterday, we spoke about the widow woman was asked to borrow “empty vessels.” Today, we want to speak about two things that Elisha asked the widow woman and two sons to do; in other for them to have their breakthrough. The first thing was: “And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons.” In the instruction of the man of God here, it is very clear that the man of God is telling the widow woman should make her “request personally known unto God.” As believers whatever it is that we are going through, we should always learn how to go before God “in private.” Our God wants us to always come as “bold as we can and be as private as much as you can.”
In addition, nobody go before God in private without receiving testimony from God in the public. Elisha knew that everything he had ever received from God, it has always been “behind a spiritual close door.” There is a place of prayers and there is also a place for “secret prayers.” When you God before God in the secret, be ready to receive from God in the “open space.” All the vessels the widow woman went to borrow were all from the public (neighbors), but the purpose of borrowimg them was never known to them. The neighbors could have asked the widow woman why you coming to borrow our vessels, but they didn’t know what the widow woman used the borrowed vessels for.
Finally, here bring us to the second thing Elisha asked the widow woman to do: “and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.” The pouring of the oil means, “you are telling God about your situation with Faith.” When you are pouring out your prayers before God, be intentional and be ready to put your Faith to work. Because Faith without work, it is dead already. I mean, this is a woman who said from (veers 2) “And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.” And suddenly, through this just “pot of oil” that she had in the house, by Faith she kept on pouring it in the vessels and the oil kept on multiplying in her hand and in the vessels. Every believers must be acting by FAITH to every divine instructions and not by sight! And by so doing we will surely be increasing on every sides. Keep pouring your little oil into those vessels, and allow God to multiply it for you in due season.
