(TEXT : Ecclesiastes 9:8)
Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment.

FOCUS :

When you put on a dirty cloths people will avoid coming close to you, but when your clothes are always clean and well ironed, even though you can’t speak fluent English; people will still want to associate with you. The truth is, “cleanness is next to Godliness.” When you are cleaned from the outside, there is a tendency of (89 percent) that your inward will be pure toward your fellow human beings. Your outward appearance is the showcase of how beautiful your inward will be. Always wear “white thoughts” as your garments.

In addition, when you go before your maker on the day of fellowship, appear before Him clean; and not with dirty cloths or dirty mouth. And most importantly, always prepare your “inward man” more cleaner; so that you can have an encounter from your inward man and then flowing through your outward man appearance; and you will never leave His presence the same way you have come. Remember, there is a saying that says: “the way you dress, will determine how you will be addressed.” So, if you will not want to be addressed wrongly or be embraced in the front of God’s Angels who are watching both our “inward appearance and outward appearance;” appear the way you will like to be addressed.

2 Corinthians 5:1
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Finally, there are different kinds of garment which every single believers must be wearing, particularly when coming into the presence of God for fellowship. There are physical clothes and there are spiritual ones. Physical ones are: seeing a believer wearing crazy jeans, backless clothes, frontless clothes, sholderless clothes, dressing to kill, dressing to impress, dressing to enticed, dressing to seduce, dressing to tempt and dressing to destroy an innocent believers in the gathering of fellowship or in another settings. Spiritual dressing, this can be interpreted into two fold: one, dress Godly, dress simply, dress moderately, dress decently, dress responsibly: and two, never come to the presence of God with grudges, hypocrisy, immoral thoughts, unforgivness spirit, abusive mouth, slander, backbiting, gossiping, jesting, mediocrity, eye-services etc. whenever a believer wears any of these garment into the house of fellowship on any of the day of worship into the presence of God; all your services or sacrifices are unless and not acceptable before God.

Philippians 4:5
Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

(TEXT : 2 Samuel 15:31)
And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.

FOCUS :

2 Samuel 17:1-2
Moreover Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David this night: And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will make him afraid: and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will smite the king only:

This chapter symbolizes the rejection of the son of David by Judas; it is exactly as the Israel of Jesus’ day; most of the people loved David, but mush of its leadership seemingly didn’t. Most of the people of Israel loved Jesus, but its leadership, at least for the most part, didn’t; ahithophel, like Judas, betrayed David. And then hung himself, so we are seeing here a forepicture of what would happen approximately a thousand years later. The proposal of ahithophel its to single out David and murder him “pleased Absalom well, and all the Elders of Israel (verse 4); and yet Absalom was David’s son; as well, all the Elders of Israel had received nothing from him but good. How true it is that the heart is desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9). In the wicked heart of ahithophel, his plans will guarantee Absalom the throne.

In addition, 2 Samuel 17:5-7 Then said Absalom, Call now Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear likewise what he saith. And when Hushai was come to Absalom, Absalom spake unto him, saying, Ahithophel hath spoken after this manner: shall we do after his saying? if not; speak thou. And Hushai said unto Absalom, The counsel that Ahithophel hath given is not good at this time.

To the best knowledge of ahithophel, his counsel should be considered done without any questioning or with no any further delay. However, the Lord had used Hushai to appeal to the pride of Absalom. This upstart could see himself marching at the head of thousands of troops, with all of Israel at his feet. Truly, ahithophel counsel had been perfect. David did not yet have time to marshal his forces and, at this stage, was not ready to fight. Ahithophel knew this, but his advice was not taken, which was ordered by the Lord Himself.

2 Samuel 15:32-34 And it came to pass, that when David was come to the top of the mount, where he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head: Unto whom David said, If thou passest on with me, then thou shalt be a burden unto me: But if thou return to the city, and say unto Absalom, I will be thy servant, O king; as I have been thy father’s servant hitherto, so will I now also be thy servant: then mayest thou for me defeat the counsel of Ahithophel.

Finally, 2 Samuel 17:23 And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and gat him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the sepulchre of his father.

As we bring this series to the end: every believers should understand that we can’t take vengeance on our own, we all should always allow God to do that for us.
So died the man who would not forgive David and had fomented a rebellion to dethrone “God’s anointed.” The Child of God must ever understand that he is obligated to forgive those whom God had already forgiven. To do less is to set oneself on the road to disaster. Honestly speaking, I wouldn’t know what revenge ahithophel is looking for, if not that he had been possessed with some kinds of demons. Yes, David killed his son-in-law (Uriah); the same David married your daughter and your daughter had two sons for David, one died and David had promised your daughter that the living son of your daughter will become king after him in Israel. Who should have been doing everything possible to see to it that as he was one of the wisest men in Israel, that his own grandson too should become one of the greatest king in Israel? But he chooses to die with shame instead of his name been spelled in the entire Israel with honor.

Romans 12:19
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
