Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
FOCUS :
Unfortunately, some believers thinks that because they are saved, going to Church regularly, paying their tithes, offerings and working for God in any of the department in the Church; they believed they should be untouchable for “temptations.” No believer can bribe God with all these. However, some believers also believed that when they commit sin, instead of them confessing it, they intend to cover it and trying every means to justify their actions in the sin that they have committed. Don’t think temptation it’s a “sin,” it’s only becomes a sin when you “fall and dwell in the temptation.” The truth is, from the very beginning there has been temptations and no believer is exempted from being tempted. Adam and Eve were tempted (Gen 3:1-7), Abraham and Sarah were tempted (Gen 22:1-3) and even our Lord Jesus Christ was tempted too (Luke 4:1-10).
In addition, you can be a Pastor, Youth Leader, President, Governor, General Overseer, Bishop: and you are still fornicating, adultery, still seeking for magic for the expansion of your ministry, still drinking strong drinks, smart, clean and clear wiring Church money into your own personal account; of course, nobody sees how clever that has been done, gentle and soft with your girlfriend outside while with your house wife you are a beast. Actually, every of these aforementioned, are something called “temptations” at first, provided you are seeing them coming, and do everything possible not to fall and become a “victim” of the temptation.
2 Corinthians 10:7
Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ’s, even so are we Christ’s.
1 Thessalonians 5:22
Abstain from all appearance of evil.
Finally, in our opening Bible text: we were made to understand that in other for one not to become victim of temptation; all you have to do is “FLEE.” There is absolutely nobody that is above temptation: in fact, that is one of the permanent Cross every believers must learn to carry as we are journey through the “path of righteousness.” Before we were saved there are lots of temptations, and when we get saved it’s part of our journey. That is why the Bible made it clear when the Holy Spirit said in the Holy Word of God: “God will not tempt us beyond what we can bear.” There are numerous types and sizes of temptations; but one thing is certain, at every stage or office every believers attained, there is always going to be “temptation from the devil and test from God” waiting for your arrival at your duty post. You can’t rule a kingdom without you been tempted, King David (Bathsheba) and Solomon his son will testified to that (300 wives and 700 girlfriends). However, the same King Solomon said: “wisdom is profitable to direct;” not knowledge or understanding but only (wisdom) will help you to FLEE from all temptations.
Ecclesiastes 10:10
If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.
1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
