BE HOSPITABLE IN ALL YOUR DOINGS (PART 4)!

(TEXT : 2 Kings 4:28)
Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?

FOCUS :

This will bring us to the conclusion of this series. According to our Bible passage for today, when you know that all you are doing are “good deeds” in an hospitable manner and back them all up with Faith; all must be well with you. Either behind your back or right in your front, you must not suffer any losses; because your good intentions will always speak for you any where you go. And that is why the women believed that she had received the child from the Lord, and she does not expect the Lord to have taken the child from her suddenly. Starting from (verses 23-27); Elisha knew from the distance that this woman had lost something valuable to her, but he didn’t know exactly what was it. Gehazi who represents religion, “trust her away,” as religion must! But Elisha, who represent Grace, says, “let her alone.” It will be good if someone reading this could turn from “Gehazi to Elisha” (stop being religious for once and start letting Grace take charge).

In addition, 2 Kings 4:29-30 Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child. And the mother of the child said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.

This woman would have not be satisfied with whatever the servant (Gehazi) was to do; she wanted Elisha to go to where the child was, and so Elisha did. The woman did not receive the child from (Ashira, Moleck, or Baal); and that gives her the opportunity to challenge God to restore her dead child. You don’t have to worry yourself over those evil things that has been flying behind your back; just try as much as possible to be hospitable and your good deeds will always bring you out clean and clear before all men. The devil thought that when he takes the life of the child of this woman, that her sorrow will increase and she will end her life because of that. And that she will take that opportunity to mock the God of Elisha; but unfortunately, for the devil, the woman’s FAITH grew just as much as her hospitality spoke for her in the sight of God as a “living sacrifice.” And anything called “living” is still alive and must live as far as God is concerned. So, whatever God has not declear dead, must live!

Finally, 2 Kings 4:33-37 He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the LORD. And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm. Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes. And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son. Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.

Every single hospitable character that you demonstrate towards people around you, it will always comes back to you as “good rewards.” Every good deeds anyone does comes with a reward; and any evil anyone does also comes with rewards. The man of God did not run from the woman on the day of her problem, instead, he stood by her and see to it that the child that has been pronounced dead came back to life and live for many years. Unfortunately, many so called “man of God” today are selling their “little oil” God has anointed them with and trading it for fames, prosperity, popularity, influence, position, power, oppress, subjugate and lead many innocent souls astray. And sadly, they are no where to be found at a time their members seeks for their assistance in their time of needs or problems. Learn from Elisha, the man of God did not eat what he cannot “defend.” The woman played her role, by showing the man of God hospitality; in return the man of God prayed to God for a child for the woman, and God played His own part by given a child to the woman. And when the devil struck (the child), God proved that He is a living God to the ugly devil. The child was given alive to the parents who are hospitable to God’s servant, therefore, alive the child must remain in their hands and not dead. What is your work or service in the house of God? Is it to cause people trouble, pain, sorrow, distraction, problem, setback, destroying other people are thses your own mission; or you are sent for PEACE?
