(TEXT : 2 Kings 7:6-7)
For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us. Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.
FOCUS:
The Syrian thought that some powerful army from a higher nation was coming upon them and that is why they fled. How easy it is for the Lord to do anything? How so important it is for the Christian not to limit Him? Evidently, when thses four lepers began to walk toward the camp of the Syrians, the Lord magnified their footsteps, until it sounded like the march of mighty army. We exhibit Faith, and God does the rest; but what we do must be in the Will of God. When we submit to God and allow Him to lead the way for us, our victory is guaranteed.
In addition, what could have made just ordinary footsteps of people that has been “banished” from the main cities chased an entire nation; if not Faith and Faith which is in God. Any mountain is movable, provided we have that little Faith to take a bold steps forward to confront the mountain. If you are frightened with the mountain before you now, how are you going to reach your breakthrough on the other side that is waiting for you? Mountain can be anything and the purpose of it in our journey of life is to hinder us from seeing what we should see; but there is absolutely no mountain that can withstand us when our Faith is on the motion.
Finally, God used the most “anointed footsteps” of the four lepers to conquered the Syrians camp at once unexpectedly. As a believer all you just had to do is for you to take a move of Faith and stop compromising; and God will surely back it up with “anointed hosts of God’s Angels.” If we are walking with God faithfully, God will also walk with us with FAITH. We can’t walk against God and expects Him to walk in our favour. Even though the four lepers were chased out from the cleansed people; of course, seeing them as a “uncleaned people;” yet, their faith was stronger than that of the armies in the land of Israel and even far more than that of the king of Israel on the throne at that time. This shows that God is not expecting us to be walking with Him without FAITH.
